Self Portrait

This sculpture explores the conflict between my inner and outer selves.

A plain, singular box made of Bristol paper floats in the middle of a paper and plywood ocean, representing how others may view me—a quiet, shy, and passive person.

From inside the box, however, green metal rods explode, sending forth an array of figurines and sharp paper sails. My dynamic thoughts burst and scatter.
